Spartan Picnic gets yet another 5/5 review! And Astrid on TV

Spartan Picnic was reviewed in Treffi the weekend edition of Turku's main newspaper and it received a glowing 5/5 treatment. I quote:
"On the whole Spartan Picnic is first class quality. Actually there are no songs on the record that would leave you cold,

Helsinki's legendary Stupido Records Store. The in store performance
takes place after 5pm and entrance is free. The concert is the day

ASTRID TO PERFORM AT MIDEM 2008 AND TO RELEASE SPARTAN PICNIC ON 27 th OF FEBRUARY IN FINLAND

Astrid Swan has been chosen to perform at MIDEM 2008 in Cannes France.
Her performance will take place on the event’s opening day 27 th of January at 12.00PM in a venue called Orange Magic Mirrors. MIDEM is the largest European annual music industry event, and there will be over 10 000 professionals on sight from over 90 different countries.

January will also be a good time to release the first single from Spartan Picnic. “As Long As It’s Not You” will be released shortly. Watch out for the video on TV and internet!

Astrid’s second album Spartan Picnic will see the light of day on the exact date of
February 27 th. On the 20 th of February a record release party (with Astrid and the band performing) will take place at Belly, Helsinki.

Astrid Swan show remembered

One of the strangest articles on Astrid Swan has appeared on the blog Dane 101 (the collective blog for Madison). Found notes on Astrid's show from the Cafe Montmartre, Madison, Wisconsin last April have appeared online:

"This most recent find appears to be notes on a musician scrawled on the back of an old Cafe Montmartre menu. We haven't figured out who she is but her "piano was perfectly hushed + measured while vocals were perfectly pitched and strong." The notes also make an excellent contribution to Echodrop Madison as they capture a conversation between the songstress and an audience member:

"Madison is lonely."
"What does that mean?"
"It means it sucks. You're beautiful, so inspire us."
"I'll try."
